Position Summary

The Guest Services Associate -Weekend serves as the weekend staff-on-duty for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Temple. This vital role ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of our guest families while overseeing the weekend operations of the House. The Guest Services Associate is a key member of our team, maintaining a calm and supportive presence and ensuring that the mission of RMHC is upheld during weekend hours.  Shift will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday; 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Sunday. Must stay on premises overnight on Friday and Saturday after shift ending.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Support & Hospitality
    • Processing guest referrals, including conducting background checks, confirming reservations, and updating admissions waiting list.
    • Process guest check-ins and check-outs.
    • Provide a warm, compassionate presence for guest families during weekend hours.
    • Identify and communicate any guest needs or concerns to the House Operations Manager.
    • Support families during emergencies, provide calm guidance, and notify appropriate personnel when necessary.
    • Communicate and enforce House Rules and Guidelines.
    • Provide transportation to and from Hospitals for families.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Serve as the primary staff contact for all guests, volunteers, and visitors during assigned shift.
    • Ensure all weekend referrals are appropriately received, documented, and communicated.
    • Collect and document room fees, donations, and other transactions.
    • Complete and update shift paperwork, including the Daily Manager Report.
    • Conduct routine walkthroughs of the House to restock, spot clean and perform any other aspects of maintaining a clean environment.
  • House Maintenance & Security
    • Conduct routine walkthroughs of the House to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment.
    • Respond to and document any security or maintenance issues; escalate as needed.
    • Check guest rooms upon checkout, following established procedures.
    • Maintain tidiness in common areas, kitchens, laundry, and storage spaces.
  • Emergency Response
    • Handle and report any incidents such as medical emergencies, power outages, or fire alarms.
    • Contact emergency services or hospital security when appropriate.
    • Communicate all incidents to RMHC leadership in a timely manner.
  • Additional Duties
    • Support RMHC staff and volunteers as needed.
    • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Director of House Operations or Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a satisfactory driving record.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or prior nonprofit/hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm and composed during emergencies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically able to complete light housekeeping tasks (lifting to 25 lbs., bending, standing, walking).

Hourly rate is $12.50 – $13.50 per hour, depending on previous experience.
